Nina is passionate about her subject and sharing her knowledge and skills with others. With many years of experience teaching jewellery making since 2000, she founded London Jewellery Workshop in 2011, a student centred learning environment promoting inspiration and creativity.
Courses are suitable for all levels. With just 6 places per class, learners are able to enjoy as much one-to-one tutor time as they need and desire. The workshop is also available for private tuition, bench hire, parties and events.
A bespoke, hand-made piece is a great way to create a unique and personal gift for a loved one or for yourself. It can be made to mark an occasion, preserve a memory, or just because.
From engagement, wedding or commitment rings, to birthday, wedding, anniversary or christening gifts, all types of commissions can be undertaken to be hand-made in my London workshop. I can also remodel a much loved piece or replicate a lost item.
Colour and Textures in Jewellery published by The Crowood Press in May 2019 is a collboration between Nina Gilbey and Bekkie Ora Cheeseman, both of whom are professional jewellery designers, makers and teachers.
The book explores how colour and texture is used in the process of designing and making jewellery, enhancing an idea, adding beauty or significance to a piece using basic jewellery making tools and household products.
